Meet Dr Tom Cunneen, a fellowship trained ophthalmic surgeon who specialises in cataract, corneal and eyelid surgery and has operated at Perth Eye Hospital since 2014.
He graduated with honours from the University of Western Australia in 2003 and completed his residency at Royal Perth Hospital. He trained at the prestigious Sydney Eye Hospital and completed a Corneal and Refractive Surgical fellowship at the internationally renowned Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery.
Dr Cunneen’s research has been published widely in the international literature. He has a Master’s Degree from the University of Sydney and is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia.
He is a member of the Australian New Zealand Society of Corneal Surgeons and Australian New Zealand Society of Oculoplastic Surgeons, treasurer of the WA branch of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists and director of the Australian Society of Ophthalmologists.
Dr Cunneen says he is constantly challenged in Ophthalmology.
